Dubai Police promotes reading to fight human trafficking
DUBAI/ The Diploma Course of Combating Human Trafficking Crimes, implemented by the Dubai Police General Command, and Dubai Judicial Institute, in collaboration with the UAE National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, UNODC, has recently organised a read-in day entitled 'Reading for Combating Human Trafficking'.

 

 

The read-in day, which was held in the Youth Centre at the Emirates Towers, amid at promoting reading habits and combating the crimes of human trafficking. The event witnessed the presence of 34 affiliates from 22 different entities including, police, human rights associations and housing and shelter institutions. As well as government and local departments in the country.

Nora Obaid Al Rumaithi, Director of the Knowledge and Publishing Management at Dubai Judicial Institute, said this is the first of its kind event in the diploma course and aimed to encourage reading through specialised books to fight human trafficking crimes.

"This event also intended to exchanging and sharing information and points of view through discussion panels instead of regular ways in training and education," Al Rumaithi added.

The read-in day is part of the Human Trafficking diploma fourth-week activities. /WAM
